Message that happens to have the ability to bring people together in kinship and appreciation, should they choose to appreciate it further than merely driving it and taking it to the dealer for repairs.

I agree with most of what you wrote. In general, it's true that a Z is "just a car", just like a 'Vette, a Viper, and a Saleen S7 are just cars. It's true that pretty much any car, down to the lowly Yugo, will have its enthusiasts, and will have its owners who just drive them. Many owners DO think their particular type of car is the best; many just love them. To me, I think it's the best for ME.

And yes, there are other things in life more important. But how important varies from individual to individual. To some, there is nothing more important. Is that a bad thing? I'm not going to judge them on that.

My point is, we're here on a car enthusiast forum. People tend to congregate here because, to them, it's more than just a mode of transportation. Sure, it's a car; a hunk of metal and machinery, but to an enthusiast, it's also more than the sum of its parts.

So it's a car, but it's not "just" a car, when you care enough to spend any time on a forum. Standing around the water cooler at work, talking about your mortgage, when the subject of your Z comes up, you can say it's just a car. But in here, saying that is like being in the ocean surrounded by oceanographers and saying, "It's just some water." Sure, it IS just some water. But it's also a whole lot more.

I guess I take issue because you say that in HERE and then get annoyed when people disagree. I wouldn't have the same reaction if I overheard you say it in the grocery store.

I was previously a aviation mechanic and avionic technician and this car is harder to work on than Aircraft.
